Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology, at the Senatobia campus, provides majors an opportunity to learn theoretical principles and practical applications that affect the control of temperature, humidity and the quality of air, design, testing, installation and development of heating and cooling systems and knowledge of how to service and repair in both residential and commercial markets.

Degrees/Certificates Available at NWCC

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree
    • All students acquiring a degree must obtain universal EPA certification prior to graduation.
  • Vocational Certificate Program
    • Students acquiring a certificate must obtain Type I and Type II EPA certification.

The HVAC program technical courses are available both day and evening. Admission to the program is competitive, and students are only admitted for the fall semester.

What can I earn?
Median hourly wages of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers were $19.08 in May 2008. The middle 50 percent earned between $14.94 and $24.84 an hour. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $12.19, and the top 10 percent earned more than $30.59. Median hourly wages in the industries employing the largest numbers of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers were:
