The Division of Fine Arts is comprised of visual and performing arts. Music majors have many performance opportunities, while theatre students get hands-on set construction and acting experience. Art majors get a chance for their works to be exhibited. Instructors are highly educated and competent professionals who actively practice their arts at Northwest and in the surrounding communities. Advisers work with senior institutions to ensure a successful transfer from Northwest to a four-year college. All Fine Arts majors get a chance to discover their talents in hands-on expereiences that help build outstanding resumes and portfolios for transfer and future careers.

The primary mission of the Fine Arts division of Northwest Mississippi Community College is to provide students of the performing and visual arts with opportunities to showcase their skills and talents, thereby helping them to discover a passion for excellence and developing their ability to express themselves within their chosen discipline.
Students who wish to major in Art, Music Education or Theatre must attend the Senatobia campus. Only Fine Arts electives are offered at the other campuses.
Performance/Exhibition Opportunities
The Theatre Department presents at least three productions every year, including a musical. The Music Department presents performances by the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Steel Band, Percussion Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Northwest Singers, and The Entertainers. The Art Department presents numerous art exhibits each semester which showcase the students and faculty of Northwest as well as famous artists from other areas.
